What Every New Stay-Home Mom Needs.

I am putting together this list of items that I cannot do without as a new stay-home Mommy.

1. Pack-N-Play with changer station and side storage for diapers, wipes, tissues, ect. This item is a must, it saves you so much time with changing a diaper since everything is right there. Plus the baby likes the cozy changer station and it's a good time to have her stretch and interact with her without worrying about getting pee or poop on a bed or couch.

2. The Fitness Ball is a miracle! This is not just a miracle, it's an investment. First and foremost you can sit on the ball with baby lying in your arms any which way really and bounce. The baby looooves it and if you want your baby fast asleep this is a sure trick, I promise. The ball can also be used during your pregnancy to ease back pain, also post-partum to do crunches to lose the pregnancy tummy pouch you're left with after giving birth. So do yourself a favor and buy yourself an exercise ball or put it in your baby shower registry.

3. A "Baby Sling" is key for a Mamma or Papa. Again this sling will save your butt so many times that you won't leave home without it. The thing is the best place to use the sling is at home. I use it at home because my little one won't sleep more than 30 min in her bassinet or swing. In the sling she sleeps 2 if not 3 hours! If you put the baby sitting up, with it's head/ear up against your heart your baby will be fast asleep and you'll be hands free to do what you please. Just be careful not to lean over, squish or cook in the kitchen with the baby in the sling. I saw a photo on instagram of Kourtney Kardashian cooking eggs on the stove with her baby in the sling! Being exposed to the stove tops flame, smoke or any hot oil popping off the pan isn't the best idea. Also good to check up on her to see if she's capable to breath easily and if her positioning of her neck, torso, and limbs are ok. The sling I use is Sakura linen sling. It's very soft and comfortable, perfect for hot weather, easy to clean, and somewhat fashionable ;) Other popular slings are top brands include Beco, ERGObaby, BABYBJORN, Boba, & BabyHawk.

4. A music player of any sort will calm your baby for at least 20-40 minutes. Anastasia was crying in the car and she's not a fan of pacifiers and I not being able to feed, change or rock her decided to play Classical music off my iPhone and she calmed down immediately. I was told by a man who heals with music says that babies are in harmony with Classical music and Reggae music. Bob Marley and Beethoven are my baby's favorite ;)

5. If you don't have a smart phone now I suggest you get one. Having a smart phone you can take decent photos and videos of your baby at that spur of moment where he/she is doing the cutest thing. I use my phone to read or browse on the web while my baby is sleeping in my arms. I like to go onto the social networks im connected to and get a quick look what's going on with friends and family. I also text my friends to have some sort of adult interaction without being on the phone. I have a bunch of shopping apps and I use my phone to purchase items I need since going out with my newborn isn't the best for baby and it's a huge hassle. I am also writing this blog on my phone which would have never been done if I had to do it on my laptop. I just don't have the time.

There you have it! Congratulations Mommy.
